I am very pleased to welcome you to our home on the Internet.
At NTU, we are very proud of our heritage. Indeed, the passion and ideals in the founding of our university is a heritage all Singaporeans can be proud of.
Founded in 1955 with funds from millionaires down to the humble trishaw rider, we began as Nanyang University, a university created by the people, for the people. Drawing the best and the brightest of students, and world-renowned scholars, the university soon became a beacon of knowledge for South East Asia, nurturing the thousands of prominent graduates in the ranks of our alumni.
More than half a century later, NTU stands as a worthy successor that continues to nurture tech-savvy, entrepreneurial leaders through a broad education in diverse disciplines; adopting innovative approaches to learning and research.
What's more, we have established an international reputation and proven ourselves worthy partners to more than 300 institutions in about 45 countries. Today, we are truly well on the way to becoming a great global university founded on science and technology.
We have more than 19,100 undergraduates and about 8,600 graduate students taking our broad-based curriculum and specialised research projects. Through our Global Immersion Programme, students can test themselves in research or entrepreneurship, undergoing stints of up to a year in the United States, China, India or Europe. Student activities provide ample opportunities for leadership and team-building while our Global Summer Studies Programme and International Student Exchange Programme enable students to attend a leading overseas university for an unforgettable cultural and educational experience.
Take a stroll around our lovely campus covered in greenery. Be part of the activities organised by our 9,200 resident students and interact with the hundreds of international faculty living on campus. This is a vibrant, pulsating community in pursuit of knowledge whilst its students pursue a well-rounded education.
Welcome to Nanyang Technological University.
